Family Transition Place (FTP) is proud to announce expanded sexual violence services through its new Lotus Centre.
Through significant funding from the provincial government, FTP’s sexual violence counselling services will be expanding to provide more support to individuals in the Dufferin and Caledon communities. The existing sexual assault counselling program offers compassionate support to all individuals (16+ years of age) who have experienced recent or historical sexual abuse. The expanded program will offer a larger continuum of support, including: 24/7 crisis support; client-centred counselling; counselling support for partners; family members and friends; community engagement and education; a mobile crisis worker; group counselling and peer support groups. FTP’s new expanded program has been named Lotus Centre—Sexual Violence Counselling and Support.
FTP will continue to work with Dufferin Child and Family Services (DCAFS) and Headwaters Health Care Centre (HHCC) to deliver sexual violence supports across our community. DCAFS provides child and youth sexual violence services and HHCC provides emergency medical and crisis services. FTP is a member of the Ontario Coalition of Rape Crisis Centres and will work closely with member agencies to develop awareness and advocate for sexual violence survivors.
