Tuesday, August 31st is International Overdose Awareness Day; an opportunity for us to reflect on practical ways to prevent overdose in our community. This year, in honour of International Overdose Awareness Day, the Dufferin-Caledon Drug Strategy committee—a collaboration of concerned service providers—will be launching an Anti-Stigma Campaign: People who use drugs are real people. Stop the blame. Stop the shame. Stop the stigma. This campaign will focus on the drug-related stigma that individuals who use drugs may experience and educate the community on the impact of those labels and stereotypes.
On August 31, 2021, please visit the Dufferin Overdose Awareness Committee page for more details on International Overdose Awareness Day and the launch of this local campaign.
