Building Safer Communities through CLEAR/CBIM

FTP is proud to lead the delivery of Coaching Leadership, Equity and Respect (CLEAR) and Coaching Boys Into Men (CBIM) across Dufferin County and Caledon, bringing evidence-based violence prevention programming to schools, sports organizations, and community groups at no cost.

This work began in 2023, when the Ontario Ministry of Education funded Interval House of Hamilton to train Violence Against Women (VAW) organizations province-wide, with FTP selected to lead local delivery in recognition of its leadership in prevention, education, and community engagement.

In 2025, the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services expanded provincial investment, securing funding and forging partnerships with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, Toronto Argonauts, and Ottawa Redblacks to extend the program’s reach. CLEAR/CBIM consists of twelve brief weekly sessions (10–15 minutes each) that guide young people—especially boys and young men—through meaningful discussions on respect, consent, healthy relationships, bystander intervention, and accountability. Designed to integrate seamlessly into classrooms, practices, and team environments, the program has already reached 27 school boards, 170 schools, and over 600 coaches across Ontario since 2024.

Locally, FTP is partnering with schools and athletic organizations to ensure CLEAR/CBIM becomes an embedded part of community culture—not a one-time presentation, but a lasting commitment to change. Because real violence prevention begins early, with consistent conversation, education, and leadership.
