Today is the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women. We invite our community to join us today in remembering the 14 women killed in 1989 at l’École Polytechnique de Montréal and the many women who have lost their lives to gender-based violence since.

FTP will be hosting an outdoor vigil today where we will join together in a conversation circle, and welcome the sharing of perspectives, reflections and experiences from anyone in attendance on what this day means to them.

Today’s vigil will take place at 11:30 a.m. at 20 Bredin Parkway.

If you are unable to join us for the in-person vigil, please take some time today to watch the following video that we have put together to honour these women. Please also take a moment to reflect on what you can do to help end gender-based violence.
