Every year throughout the month of November, Woman Abuse Prevention Month (WAPM) is recognized in communities and organizations across Ontario.
WAPM exists to drive awareness, education and a willingness to help end violence against women in our province, and ultimately, around the globe.
Family Transition Place (FTP) is proud to be participating again in the Wrapped in Courage Campaign, an initiative originally started in 2013 by the Ontario Association of Interval and Transition Houses (OAITH). You can support this initiative and FTP in working to end violence against women in Dufferin and Caledon by wrapping yourself in a purple scarf, tie or exclusive piece of jewellery. Your pet can also join this initiative—large and small pet bandanas are available as well.
Through your purchase—for yourself, or someone special—you’ll demonstrate you support the work FTP and other agencies are doing to end violence against women. Wrapped in Courage items can be purchased by visiting our online store.
All month, we will be sharing information and resources. We hope you’ll take the time to educate yourselves and your network on the prevalence of violence against women and what we must do to end it…together.
