We believe strongly that when a Board represents a broad diversity of voices and experiences, all working together, we are better positioned to serve the unique needs of everyone in our community.

We continue to view the world through an anti-oppressive and equity lens and if you do too and you’re ready to commit to making our world, and our community, a better place, ask yourself these questions:

  • Do you believe that a committed group of people working together can help bring meaningful change?
  • Do you feel that love and kindness can help a community thrive?
  • Do you feel that you know and care about opportunities for impactful change but you’re not sure how to get involved?
  • Do you have a unique perspective or voice to bring to the table?

Consider joining the passionate, friendly and forward-thinking Board of Directors at Family Transition Place. At FTP we believe that when a group of dedicated people with diverse skill sets work together in collaboration, sharing their hopes for a better future, one without violence, systemic racism, and hatred for the other, we can make a difference. Apply now and join us in creating a brighter, safer community; where no one is left behind.

Previous board experience of any kind, working at the community level, whether locally or out of the country, while an asset, is not necessary. A diverse and inclusive Board helps us adopt new and innovative ideas and approaches.

Family Transition Place is working towards reaching out to people who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Colour), 2SLGBTQ+ and all marginalized identities, in order to centre voices, lived experience, knowledge and expertise from folks who have previously not had a place at the table. We’d love to hear from you!

Family Transition Place is committed to developing collaborative and reciprocal community partnerships as we disrupt and challenge systemic and institutional oppressions within our sector towards all stigmatized identities.
