Since 2012, the annual Ferguson Memorial Walk has raised much-needed funds in support of FTP’s programs and services—most specifically, for our school-based programs that educate students on healthy relationships, working to eliminate violence in our communities. This event was organized by the family of the late Heidi Lee Ferguson, who was killed in a domestic dispute with her estranged husband in 2009. Having raised over $120,000 for FTP since the event’s inception, the family took a step back from planning this important event last year, graciously allowing FTP to continue organizing this event in honour of Heidi and in support of our work.
We are delighted to share that, though it will look and feel different given our current physical distancing restrictions, the Ferguson Memorial Walk will still take place this year. Proudly renamed Heidi’s Walk on what will be the 9th anniversary of this community event, we will open registration this coming Monday, July 20th at 11:00 a.m.!
In addition to unveiling the new logo we are pleased to share with you today, we are looking forward to sharing many exciting announcements and opportunities to support FTP through this special event. Stay tuned!
