Before Coronavirus was a part of our everyday vocabulary and drastically changed the way in which we all live and work, Family Transition Place (FTP) hosted its 10th annual International Women’s Day Celebration Luncheon. Though it feels strange to highlight a celebration at a time like this, we feel that we could all use a little more good news these days.
Through the commitment of our guests, vendors and sponsors, we are thrilled to announce that this event raised $45,000 for FTP programs and services. In addition to raising vital funds and awareness, this year’s event was particularly special because we were not just celebrating the 10th anniversary of this event; we also acknowledged the 35th anniversary of FTP being in this community.
In honour of our 35th anniversary, we prepared a special film presentation to show at the event. The film highlighted the courageous stories of six local women through the sharing of each of their unique life experiences. A very special and heartfelt thank you to Kaarina Dillabough, Leah Gilfoy, Mandy Gould, Jessie Humphries, Preeya Rateja and Mary Rose for entrusting us with their stories. We are immensely proud and humbled to share this video with all of you and hope you’re as inspired by each of these brilliant women as we are.
