National Bullying Awareness Week is recognized throughout Canada from November 17-23, 2013. This national campaign was conceived by Canadian educator, and Bullying.org President, Bill Belsey with the goal of raising awareness about bullying amongst Canadian students. The Bullying.org website promotes positive relationships and provides youth with real-life solutions on how to deal with bullying behaviour.
Ontario has also designated the week beginning on the third Sunday of November as Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week to help promote safe schools and a positive learning environment in Ontario. During Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week – November 18-24 – Ontario students, school staff and parents are encouraged to learn more about bullying and its effect on student learning and well-being.
FTP’s Youth Education programs educate youth on bullying behaviours and encourage healthy relationships through interactive program curriculum. For more information on FTP’s Youth Education programs, please click HERE.
